Tamarac, Fla. Winn-Dixie store No. 326 Director Anthony Ordonez and his team kicked off a partnership with nearby Renaissance Charter School during the school’s Fall Festival Nov. 19. The team greeted more than 100 attendees during an evening of festive fun.
Ordonez and his store’s associates have been working to build partnerships with community organizations for several months, and Renaissance Charter is the store’s first relationship with a nearby school. Ordonez met residents, potential customers and others, who complimented the store’s new amenities.
“We are proud to be in the community and supporting a great new partnership with Renaissance Charter School,” said Ordonez. “We were able to invite several families into our store while having a blast with students.”
The team gave arriving event attendees cookies and cupcakes from the store’s bakery. Winn-Dixie also sponsored a cookie-stacking contest for the students, and the winner got a $25 Winn-Dixie gift card.
Renaissance Charter School Principal LaShonda White expressed praise for Ordonez and thanked Winn-Dixie for their support.
“We want to thank Anthony and Winn-Dixie for participating in our Fall Festival,” she said. “Parents and staff recognize Winn-Dixie’s eagerness to take an active role in our school and we are very excited to see what this partnership has in store for the future.”
