BI-LO and Harveys recently rewarded shoppers for supporting education through a charitable program that benefits local schools and individuals.

Hometown Educational Rewards, a legacy Harveys program now offered at BI-LO, is supported by parent and supporter involvement. When shoppers link their Harveys Hometown Rewards Key or BI-LO BONUSCARD to a participating school code, that school earns points towards free educational items. As a bonus, participating individuals earn entries in a raffle for great prizes.

Last April, BI-LO adopted Hometown Educational Rewards after seeing how successful the program was for Harveys.

“We’re excited to give back to the community in this way and are thrilled to connect with our shoppers from an educational standpoint,” said BI-LO store No. 5713 Center Store Area Manager Raymond Daughtery.

Most recently, BI-LO and Harveys recognized individual winners who earned points for schools from August through November 2014. Winners received an iPod Nano and a BI-LO or Harveys gift card valued at between $250 and $500.

“We’re proud to offer Hometown Educational Rewards,” said Harveys store No. 1618 Store Director Saul Camacho. “It’s a unique way to engage shoppers and get them involved in supporting local schools.”
