Creative and fun Winn-Dixie bakery items were on proud display at the Audubon Zoo in New Orleans for the Kids Zoo-to-Do event.

Zoo-to-Do transformed the zoo grounds into a magical play land for children of all ages.

Winn-Dixie’s central attraction were the zoo and animal-themed cakes that decorators from throughout the district made. Winn-Dixie also wowed the crowd with a cupcake buffet, a hands-on sweet treat spectacle where children of all ages design their own cupcakes. Other activities included “The Real Deal Wheel,” created by Monique Johnson, area service lead. Attendees spun the wheel for a chance to win Winn-Dixie giveaways.

This partnership was a joint effort of stores throughout Winn-Dixie District 5 of the New Orleans Region. A host of Winn-Dixie volunteers from all over the district came out to showcase Winn-Dixie’s offerings to attendees through delicious food samples, interactive games and an evening filled with fun for kids and adults alike.

“Our partnership with the Audubon Institute’s Zoo-to-Do has been a great opportunity for us to engage with our customers in a different setting,” said Clayton Majeste, store director for store No. 1406. “It’s always great to have fun for a great cause.” Event proceeds benefit Gator Run, Audubon Zoo’s new lazy river with surprises around every turn.

“I would like to thank Winn-Dixie for being such a wonderful sponsor of Kids Zoo-To-Do, said Ellen Buckley, Zoo-to-Do event coordinator. “Your talented team is so much fun and the Winn-Dixie tables are always such a hit with your cupcakes and beautifully decorated cakes. You make such a great impression year after year.”
