No. 1615 in Moultrie, Georgia held a memorable customer appreciation day
on Saturday, Jan. 31 to say “thank you” to their customers.
Customers of all ages attended the event that featured face painting, balloon twisting, a bounce house, free giveaways and more. The store also hosted a cookout by local BBQ expert Joe Kem who provided free BBQ sandwiches for the first 100 customers. Joe Kem’s BBQ Sauce was originally created by an old family friend back in the ’70s. When the family friend passed, he left Joe his recipe. After making a few adjustments to the recipe, “Joe Kem’s” BBQ sauce was born, and today, it is available in several Harveys stores and has been featured in Southern Living Magazine.
The event also featured other Georgia-grown vendors and products for free samplings, such as Stripling’s jerky and sausage, along with Zeigler Gallberry Honey. The food sampling didn’t stop at the Georgia Grown stations. Each department highlighted some of Harveys customer favorites like the bakery’s cake of the month and some of the deli ready-to-eat meals that customers had to sample.
As customers flooded the store, they had the opportunity to take part in the prize wheel, which was a popular station, as customers had a chance to win koozies, key chains, visors, and Harveys gift cards. Children of all ages enjoyed the bounce house and had a chance to have their faces painted or get balloons shaped into their favorite animals.
“The store looked great and customers of all ages had fun,” said District Director John Livingston. “Customers enjoyed not having their usual grocery shopping trip. Their children were able to enjoy the face painting, balloon twisting and bounce house while parents won prizes and had the chance to sample Harveys products they never purchased before.”
