The City of Auburndale, Florida recognized its local Winn-Dixie for involvement in the community and exemplary customer service by awarding the store with its Business of the Month.

“We are pleased to be honored with the Business of the Month award and grateful to be acknowledged for our efforts in the community we serve,” said Matthew Soots, Auburndale store No. 612 director. “We are very active in the local high school as well as youth groups and Veterans groups.”

Winn-Dixie store No. 612 plays an active role in the local schools and partners with Auburndale High School on events. The store also proudly sponsors the school’s basketball team every year.

The City of Auburndale Business of the Month award was initiated a year and a half ago to recognize existing businesses, large and small, and to help connect them to the city officials.

“Our goal with the Business of the Month award was to bridge the gap between the city leaders and our local businesses and to increase outreach,” said Keith Cowie, Auburndale mayor and Winn-Dixie district director. “The city appreciates our existing businesses and the economic stimulation they create.”

Winn-Dixie makes it a priority to be involved in the community it serves and make lasting connections with city leaders and customers.
