To thank the hard-working educators in their communities, 23 South Florida Winn-Dixie stores participated in National Teacher Appreciation Week from May 5-9. Now in its 30thyear, National Teacher Appreciation Week provides an opportunity to recognize the teachers that shape the country’s future on a daily basis.

As a token of their gratitude, Winn-Dixie associates visited their school partners to provide delicious breakfast and lunch platters, as well as Winn-Dixie gift cards.

Winn-Dixie Miami Region Vice President Tony Jorges said honoring local educators is a great way for associates to connect with their neighbors.

“It’s fantastic to see our store teams continue to make a difference in their communities by providing our local teachers with the recognition and admiration they deserve,” he said. “These special visits, along with their collaboration throughout the year, are why our stores are regarded as invaluable resources to our school partners.”
