When the Chamber of Commerce in Alexander City, Ala., had an opening on the Board of Directors, its members chose Chris Hall, director of Winn-Dixie store No. 456.

Chamber Executive Director Ann Rye nominated Hall and the board members voted unanimously to appoint him.

With a population of more than 15,000, Alexander City is located on the shores of Central Alabama’s Lake Martin. The city offers a location central to Montgomery, Ala., Birmingham, Ala. and Atlanta. Its Chamber of Commerce works to initiate, develop, market, promote and sustain economic and community development for the Alexander City and Lake Martin areas.

Chris will represent the retail sector of the community, serving as a voice for a key business driver in the local economy. He also serves on the board of directors for the local Salvation Army and is a local Boy Scout leader. Hall, his wife and two young children have lived in Alexander City for four years.

“This appointment is such an honor for me and I see it as a way for me to give back to my community,” said Hall. “I’m very motivated for several reasons to fill this role to the best of my ability, as Alexander City is integral to my family’s happiness and I also recognize that Winn-Dixie’s success is tied to the Chamber’s success.”
