Mother’s Day is the perfect time for children and families to show the moms in their lives how much they mean to them. Winn-Dixie stores throughout the Southeast joined the celebration with variety of ways to tell mom ”thank you,” including cake decorating events, floral arrangement classes and arts and crafts.

Several store associates in Winn-Dixie’s Miami and Tampa regions joined school partners to help students create personalized cakes for their moms. Kids used an array of icings and sprinkles to decorate theirmini-cake or jumbo cupcakes to craft the perfect sweet treat that mom could enjoy on her special day. Stores that participated in the Jr. Cake Decorator events included: store No. 290 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; store No. 286 in Miami; store No. 221 in West Palm Beach, Florida; store No. 249 in Miami, Florida; store No. 250 in Miami; store No. 254 in Miami; store No. 212 in Royal Palm Beach, Florida; store No. 723 in N. Fort Myers, Florida store No. 745 in Lehigh Acres, Florida, store No. 757 in Plantation, Florida; store No. 201 in Hialeah, Florida; store No. 287 in Miami; store No. 343 in Miami and store No. 366 in Miami.

Students in Winn-Dixie’s New Orleans region also created custom gifts for their mothers as children at three schools were able to bring home hand-made floral arrangements taught by Winn-Dixie floral associates. Each class was provided a colorful mix of flowers, fresh greenery and vases for each student to craft the perfect bouquet that would melt mom’s heart.

Customers in the Jacksonville region were able to visit two stores to participate in activities tailored to showing mom love. Families visited Winn-Dixie store No. 30 in High Springs, Florida for an interactive Mother’s Day event to celebrate what makes moms great. Shoppers took the opportunity to join Winn-Dixie associates in floral bouquet making workshops, a personalized Mother’s Day card decorating station, free drawings for holiday prizes and delicious food sampling. Moms were also invited to Winn-Dixie store No. 5 in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida to kick off their holiday weekend with complimentary mimosas, pastries, smoothies and more.

The Winn-Dixie team at store No. 558, in Crestview, Florida in the Birmingham region also joined the Mother’s Day festivities during an in-store Mother’s Day fest. To showcase the store’s variety of Mother’s Day gift solutions, the team designed beautiful floral displays, dessert tables and cases, as well as an illuminated chocolate fountain, along with holiday banners and balloons.
