BI-LO stores throughout Upstate South Carolina played host to a popular Clemson Tigers pre-game radio show this football season.
From August to October, the “Tiger Tailgate Show” hit the road to broadcast live at three BI-LO locations, where show hosts David Stein and William Qualkinbush interacted with Clemson fans, offering them opportunities to win great prizes and to talk about all things football.
BI-LO store Nos. 5057 in Simpsonville, S.C.; 5704 in Greenville, S.C. and 5161 in Greer, S.C. hosted fans for the University of Georgia, Florida State and Boston College games. Tiger fans came decked out in their Clemson orange attire to listen to the shows, each broadcasted live outside the store three hours before kickoff.
Fans had the opportunity to win prizes including tickets to upcoming Clemson home games, autographed items, Tiger Tailgate T-shirts, a special Clemson Paw mini-fridge, free milk and ice cream from PET and BI-LO gift cards. Attendees also had the opportunity to meet special guests including head coaches for the Clemson volleyball and soccer teams.
“Having The Tiger Tailgate Shows at BI-LOs is such a natural,” said David Stein, co-host of the show. “We've done the show from restaurants and sports bars before, but none were as successful as at BI-LO. Their customers were engaging and fun. I would embrace coming back to BI-LO with The Tiger Tailgate Show anytime.”
BI-LO is the official grocer of Clemson University, and associates also enjoyed interacting with fans and sharing their love for the game.
"I'd like to thank every member of The BI-LO teams for their kindness and hospitality on game days,” said Stein. “They made us feel welcome and cared for. We also saw their attention to detail in ensuring their customers experience at their stores was top-notch.”
