The parking lot at BI-LO store No. 5161 was filled with excitement May 10 as children explored activities geared towards kid-friendly fun.
The store, in Greer, S.C., hosted its second annual Kidz Blast to show appreciation for area youth and their families. The event brings together businesses and organizations across the city to put on a special day for kids.
Store Service Area Manager Kerry Kucera spearheaded the event.
“This event has been a great success and really hits home for the kids,” she said. “It’s a win-win-win, because the children get to have fun, parents can relax while we provide entertainment, and BI-LO gets to make that real community connection.”
Children and parents were able to pot a plant to take home, play games, sample delicious food and beverages, board a fire truck, check out Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s race car and enjoy live music by a local band.
“Kidz Blast is truly an event to look forward to because the community is widely involved,” said Jan Bowen, store director at BI-LO store No. 5161. “It’s designed to personalize Greer’s businesses and link them to one another and to families.”
Nearby vendors such as Lowes, GNC, Johnsonville Sausages and Pepsi teamed up to make sure attendees had a great time.
