Crowds at the 34th St. Augustine Seafood Festival line up for a sampling of Winn-Dixie seafood.​

Winn-Dixie continued a five-year long tradition serving up a taste of the sea as presenting sponsor of the 34th St. Augustine Lions Seafood Festival, held March 6-8 in historic St. Augustine, Fla.

During the three-day event, the Winn-Dixie seafood team offered crowds in excess of 25,000 attendees more than 12 varieties of fresh seafood including grilled, fried and coconut shrimp, swai, flounder, pollack, crab bites, salmon, tilapia, seafood dip and more.

The seafood team worked tirelessly to keep the grills and fryers going as the crowd waiting to try the grocer’s samples filled the Winn-Dixie tent -- often with lines 40 people deep -- throughout the weekend.

“Winn-Dixie is passionate about seafood and this festival is a great opportunity to connect with seafood fans in the community who share that passion with us,” said Doug Owenby, Bi-Lo Holding’s director of seafood. “Attendees enjoyed sampling the seafood variety we have in our stores and received cooking tips to prepare their favorites at home.”
