New Orleans-area Winn-Dixie associates bowl to help support the Children’s Bureau of New Orleans.

A few weeks ago, Winn-Dixie associates throughout the New Orleans District gathered to have some “rolling” fun for a great cause.

The Children's Bureau of New Orleans hosted the fourth Bowling for Children's Bureau event at the Fulton Street Bowling Alley in New Orleans. Companies from around the region came out in support of this event, hosted by an organization that positively impacts children in the area.

Winn-Dixie associates formed a team of associates and bowled to help Children’s Bureau serve youth in the Greater New Orleans that are suffering from poverty, abuse and delinquency.

"Bowling for children was such a great event," said Marlon Hawkins, director of Winn-Dixie store No. 1430. "This community program allowed Winn-Dixie associates to get together and have fun outside the stores while supporting a very worthy cause. The organization was very appreciative for our support."

The local event attracted sponsors from throughout the region. Delicious food and specialty cocktails were available for everyone in attendance to enjoy.

A total of 24 teams bowled for the Children’s Bureau and took part in the fundraising efforts during a fun-filled night that promoted the growth and resilience of children through prevention, advocacy, education and intervention.
