Winn-Dixie store No.349 Store Director Rick Giordano is proud to say his store has been a go-to resource for Park Springs Elementary School for the past four years. On Feb. 25, Giordano and his team continued to build on their relationship with the local school, welcoming staff and a record number of more than 200 families to the Margate, Florida store for a Math Night event.

The event marked the fourth consecutive year associates have welcomed a growing number of Park Springs families to the store for educational events. Along with hosting yearly Math Nights, Giordano has engaged teachers and students outside the store, participating in Career Days and Teacher Appreciation celebrations. Hosting community events like the most recent Math Night led Park Springs Elementary to recognize Giordano and Winn-Dixie as Business Partner of the Year.

“Our longtime partnership and successful Math Night events with Park Springs Elementary fills me and my associates with pride,” said Giordano. “It’s such a wonderful feeling to see smiling children return year after year, and welcome new families who share their gratitude for our support of their children’s education.”

As a record-breaking number of families completed their Math Night worksheets, Giordano and his team treated students and parents to custom-made cakes from the store’s bakery, along with goodie bags filled with Winn-Dixie giveaways. Children also enjoyed a face-painting session and samplings from various store departments. Park Springs Elementary School Assistant Principal Katie Policastro said Giordano’s support of her staff and students has been unwavering throughout the years.

“Throughout our four-year partnership, everyone from teachers to families has been overjoyed to have Rick and Winn-Dixie as a resourcein our community,” Policastro said. “The smiles that filled the store during our Math Night were a heartwarming testament to a partnership that has been so vital to us over the years.”
