Store directors and associates at BI-LO, Harveys and Winn-Dixie are known for donating time, products and funds to community organizations within their footprint. Giving back to the community is part of our culture, and the Bi-Lo Holdings Foundation wrapped up 2014 by giving back in a huge way.

The Bi-Lo Holdings Foundation donated more than $3.1 million in grants to 225 charitable organizations throughout the Southeast. The grants were awarded from October through November 2014 to charitable organizations with missions to address hunger and hunger-related health and education issues in the communities we serve.

“The Bi-Lo Holdings Foundation is thankful for the immense support and generous contributions of our business partners who enable us to provide these funds to local organizations who share our mission of alleviating hunger in our communities,” said Mary Kellmanson, foundation president and chief marketing officer of Bi-Lo Holdings. “As food and togetherness are at the core of everything we do, we strive to support those who may be food insecure so that they may enjoy this holiday season.”

Grant recipients ranged from food banks to Boys & Girls clubs to small, localized hunger-relief organizations. Non-profits within the BI-LO, Harveys and Winn-Dixie footprint are encouraged to submit grant applications for 2015 via the Bi-Lo Holdings website.
