The Winn-Dixie team at store No. 285 in South Miami, Florida, celebrated the completion of the store’s remodeling during a July 9 Grand Reveal event, welcoming more than 700 customers and dignitaries.

Along with highlighting the new look and expanded offerings throughout the store, Winn-Dixie teamed up with the City of South Miami and Chamber South to host a ribbon-cutting ceremony to kick off the celebration, which included donations to three local community organizations.

The new Winn-Dixie store features a completely new design concept and more vibrant, open floor plan for additional convenience. Shoppers sampled items from the new prepared foods department as well as the expanded seafood, bakery and wine departments. They gathered around the “made-to-order” sushi and live lobster tank areas, and marveled over the arrangements available in the new floral department.

“It felt truly amazing to receive compliments from everyone, not only from current customers, but also those who were stepping foot inside Winn-Dixie for the first time in many years,” said Store Director Jorge Hung. “We were able to share this proud moment with our new partners at the City of South Miami and Chamber South, as well as give back to local organizations who make South Miami a better place.”

As part of the evening’s special events, Southeastern Grocers CEO and President Ian McLeod, Winn-Dixie District Director Gueorgui Lago and Miami Region Vice President Tony Jorges presented Hung with a commemorative plaque in honor of the store’s milestone. The Winn-Dixie team then presented donations to the Branches, South Miami Alliance for Youth and ArtSouth organizations.

“The renovation to our South Miami Winn-Dixie is simply amazing and we were honored to be a part of this special celebration that welcomed our neighbors to their lovelynew store,” Chamber South President Mary Scott Russell said. “From the amenities to the service, we know Jorge and his team will provide the South Miami community with an amazing experience for years to come.”
