Winn-Dixie is the Official Supermarket and primary uniform sponsor for The Armada FC (Football Club), Jacksonville’s new professional North American Soccer League team.

The team’s Nike-produced jerseys, shown off at a recent news conference, include Winn-Dixie’s logo prominently featured on the front.

“We are honored to have two great local area companies, Winn-Dixie and Key Auto Company, joining us on our soccer shirts. It will be a thrill to see our players sport Winn-Dixie across the chest of their shirts when we kick off next spring and it is a bonus for us to have Key Auto Company on our sleeves,” said Mark Frisch, owner of the Armada FC.

“As the First Coast’s hometown grocery store, we’re thrilled to be the official supermarket of the new Jacksonville Armada FC and proud to have our name on the uniform,” said Randy Rambo, Winn-Dixie regional vice president. “This new partnership provides us with a great opportunity to make meaningful connections with our customers, many of which are passionate soccer fans.”

The Armada FC uniform unveiling and sponsor announcement came one week after the club announced its first official signed player in franchise history, goalkeeper Miguel Gallardo. Gallardo joins Armada FC from Major League Soccer’s Orlando City, South Carolina. The club also announced the addition of Fabricio Ortiz, who joins the Armada FC from his hometown team of Club Atletico Alumni in Argentina and Lucas Rodriguez, who spent five seasons with current NASL leaders Minnesota United FC, where he helped them win the NASL Championship in 2011.

Winn-Dixie will also receive various benefits, including exclusive seating at all home matches, strong presence in the stadium with recognition in game promotions and multiyear partnership that allows the grocer to connect with associates, customers and show support for the team.
