Winn-Dixie store No. 306 Director Lavar Miller, Assistant Store Director Walter Bieniek and Cheese Steward Mary Calvert represented the Hallandale Beach, Fla. Winn-Dixie during the 11thGrapes for Grades food and wine tasting Sept. 20.

The event marked the second year Winn-Dixie has supported the Greater Hollywood (Fla.) Chamber of Commerce in its efforts to raise money for local high school seniors seeking higher education.

The upscale extravaganza benefited the Hollywood Florida Scholarship Foundation, an organization that has helped more than 250 high school seniors finance their college education. Winn-Dixie provided an array of elegant artisan cheeses and hand-crafted wraps as the team mingled with more than 500 event attendees, promoting the store’s offerings and increasing its visibility among its neighbors.

Miller was proud of Winn-Dixie’s return to the event, expanding on his store’s commitment to working with community organizations and supporting local education initiatives.

“It was great to return to this wonderful event that celebrates hard-working students who are striving to continue their education,” Miller said. “We are proud to represent Winn-Dixie in making sure deservingstudents get the support they need to reach their goal of becoming college graduates.”
