Freshman Converse College students show off their new BI-LO bags.

BI-LO store No. 5519 Director Sandra Milyo and associates of store in Spartanburg, S.C. welcomed new students at Converse College during freshman move-in day on August 20.

The private liberal arts university is located 30 miles northeast of Greenville, South Carolina and 70 miles south of Charlotte North Carolina, and serves approximately 1200 female students from 30 states and 12 countries.

BI-LO associates spent the day welcoming students and their parents as they moved into the dorms that would serve as their new home for the next four years. Associates distributed 300 goody bags full of items including cold drinks, Little Debbie snack cakes, chips, cookies and a variety of BI-LO coupons. In addition, 100 $5 BI-LO gift cards were placed in random gift bags.

The school is located less than two miles from the store in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

“A lot of Converse College students are from other parts of the country, so we wanted to be sure they knew about BI-LO and also take the opportunity to welcome them to the area and wish them success in the upcoming school year,” said Milyo.

“Since classes have started, I have had at least 10customers approach me at the store telling me they were shopping because they saw us at the event.”
