Miss South Carolina, Brooke Mosteller, recently made at stop at the BI-LO store No. 5232 in Cheraw, S.C.

Customers were delighted to see Miss South Carolina greeting them at their BI-LO store. Mosteller addressed a group of customers, telling them about the importance of supporting the Susan G. Komen Foundation. She agreed to pictures with customers in exchange for contributions to the organization, raising more than $225 that day.
The BI-LO Midlands district works annually through the BI-LO Charity Classic to raise money for the Miss South Carolina Scholarship Organization. In return, the state’s pageant participants make appearances at BI-LO stores to help raise money for community outreach programs.
"It has been extremely rewarding for the Midlands District store teams to partner with these young women,” said Tamra Tootle, BI-LO Midlands District Director. “Not only will they benefit from the store teams raising approximately $45,000 for the Miss South Carolina Scholarship Organization this year, but these young women give their time to come into each of our stores to help us give back to each community throughout the year. Whether it is the Susan G. Komen Foundation, underway now, the Holiday and Summer Hunger Relief programs or local charities and food banks, these women donate hours of time and support to partner with BI-LO. It's quite fulfilling to partner with these young women to strengthen the impact of our giving campaigns."
The Susan G. Komen Foundation has invested more than $790 million in breast cancer research and $1.5 billion in community outreach programs over the last 30 years. The global foundation advocates for cancer research and outreach programs while helping low-income and uninsured women receive breast cancer screenings and treatment.
