More than 60 runners and walkers from Winn-Dixie Walk MS Orange Park team celebrated the $1,800 in funds raised for the 2015 event.

Winn-Dixie associates in the Jacksonville, Florida region put their feet to the pavement to fight Multiple Sclerosis April 11 at the Orange Park MS Walk.

In Winn-Dixie’s second year of participation, store No. 123 Director Gene Williams led the charge with his personal passion for the cause and encouraged more than 60 associates from 16 area stores to join in. The Winn-Dixie Walk MS team also raised $1,800 in funds through associate and corporate donations to fund research and find a cure for MS.

“I am so very proud of how much of a difference our company can make in the lives of our neighbors and community,” said Williams. “We have so many dedicated associates willing to give their time and effort to help those less fortunate. Go Team Winn-Dixie!”

Associates also hosted a barbeque after the walk to refresh and refuel the participants and team members with hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, Chek soda and Winn-Dixie spring water to celebrate their accomplishment together for a deserving cause.
