There was a large Bi-Lo Holdings turnout for the Beson4 Media Corporate 5K race in Jacksonville, Fla. April 17.

Some 95 Bi-Lo Holdings associates turned out April 17 to represent their company running alongside about 3,000 in the Beson4 Media Group Corporate Run.

The 5K run/walk event was the perfect opportunity for associates to participate in a healthy activity that aligns with the company’s Living Well program.

Before the race, Bi-Lo Holdings participants met at the company’s tent, where it became clear that this year’s participation level bested that of last year by about 40.

Bi-Lo Holdings organizer, Corporate Communications Specialist Julianne Roberts said the increased participation could be attributed to greater awareness and more involvement with the event this year.

“We kicked it up a notch,” Roberts said. “We had a second tent, a catered dinner and live entertainment. We wanted an employee wellness event where people could gather after the race.”

Garrett Harbison, Financial Planning and Analysis Manager, provided musical entertainment with an acapella guitar performance.

Senior Director of Risk Management Michael Bellomo took the company’s first place time for men with a time of 21:16, a pace of 6:51 per mile. Roberts took first place for women in the company with a time of 23:22, a pace of 7:25 per mile.
