With a newly-remodeled store, Winn-Dixie store No. 676Director Dan Lefurge and his team are teaming up with the Brandon, Fla. community.
The store built on its relationship with Kingswood Elementary School as the team welcomed more than 500 staff members, students and parents to a fun-filled Spirit Night Dec. 2.
When he arrived at the store in May, Lefurge began working with the Kingswood Elementary PTA to build a relationship between Winn-Dixie and the school. And with a Spirit Night, Lefurge saw another way to entrench Winn-Dixie in the Brandon community.
“The turnout we had during Spirit Night was absolutely stunning and we had several compliments from staff and parents who hadn’t been in our new store,” he said. “By inviting Kingswood Elementary School to Winn-Dixie for Spirit Night, we have become closer with the community we serve and we can’t wait to build on our budding partnership.”
Lefurge and his team offered samples from the expanded store’s new BBQ and chicken wing bars, as well as some freshly-cut fruit. Families marveled at the store’s new look as students enjoyed face painting, a cookie stacking contest, giveaways and more.
Kingswood Elementary School PTA President Jessica Cook was blown away by Winn-Dixie’s efforts during Spirit Night.
“We can’t thank Winn-Dixie enough for being such a large part of bringing Kingswood Elementary School families together,” she said. “We can’t wait to build on our partnership with Dan and get Kingswood Elementary School families back into our beautiful new Brandon Winn-Dixie.”
