Store No. 5421 in Candler, North Carolina, recently held a community-wide event to show appreciation to loyal customers.

Shoppers came out in droves on a Saturday afternoon and were treated to snacks and numerous activities hosted by BI-LO associates. Attendees enjoyed free Dietz and Watson hot dogs, as well as a variety of samples from vendor favorites. Kids played in an inflatable bounce house, decorated their own cookies and posed for photos with BI-LO mascots Buddy Banana and Sue Berry.

The store also hosted two pie-eating contests in which kids 13 and older stuffed their faces full of BI-LO’s award-winning pie. The winner of each contest took home a prize pack full of goodies. To keep shoppers on their toes, the store also hosted a cakewalk, placing numbers throughout the store for customers to find and win bakery items.

“It was a fun afternoon and important for us to show customers that we appreciate their loyalty,” said Cole Cantrell, store director. “I think they enjoyed being treated while they did their grocery shopping that day.”
