Sept. 4 marked the launch of Associate Giving, a Bi-Lo Holdings program that allows associates to donate to help others in their community and their fellow associates in times of need.
Associates celebrated with a luncheon at the Jacksonville and Greenville store support centers, interaction with organizations dedicated to help our communities, information sessions, and, in Jacksonville, a performance by the Edward Waters College Choir.
At the core of Associate Giving is the ability for associates to make single or regular contributions to two programs: – the Bi-Lo Holdings Foundation and We Care Fund.
The Bi-Lo Holdings Foundation helps the communities where we have stores by making grants to local non-profit organizations dedicated to fighting hunger, improving health and education, and enhancing the lives of women and children. The Foundation also provides aid to our communities when natural disasters strike. The non-profit We Care Fund provides help for Bi-Lo Holdings associates who face a severe, unexpected emergency or other dire situation and need extra support.
Winn-Dixie and Jacksonville associates may contribute to the Bi-Lo Holdings Foundation and the We Care Fund by visiting the Enterprise or Retail Portal and BI-LO and Greenville associates may contribute to either the foundation or the fundat Associates then log onto “My Self Service,” click on “Associate Giving” and select “We Care” or “Bi-Lo Holdings Foundation.”
“I applaud Winn-Dixie,” said Bruce Ganger, Executive Director of Second Harvest North Florida. “They have been wonderful community partners for many years. The associates give in many ways and this is another testimony to their commitment to helping those who struggle in tough economic times. They have set an example for other corporations through making giving back a corporate priority.”
Associates also may contribute to the We Care Fund via automatic payroll deductions. If you would like more information about payroll deductions eligibility for the We Care program, or if you have any questions about the Bi-Lo Holdings Foundation or We Care, please contact the HR Support Center at 1-855-HR-FOR-ME (855-473-6763) or e-mail Foundation@biloholdings.comor All donations are tax deductible.
