Winn-Dixie’s “Cone Crew” ice cream truck is making stops at Florida Winn-Dixie neighborhoods and parks, offering residents free ice cream floats and information about the fuelperks! program.

Through June 15, the Winn-Dixie-Cone Crew truck, loaded with Chek soda and Winn-Dixie ice cream, will be continuing to make stops from Tampa to Ocala at community locations near stores recently converted from Sweetbay to Winn-Dixie. The crew has been traveling in Florida since May 22, offering free floats and a chance to register for a Winn-Dixie Reward Card right on the spot.

The Cone Crew is blending any combination of a variety of Chek soda flavors and Winn-Dixie ice cream flavors, allowing patrons to try creations such as a “chocolate-covered strawberry float” with chocolate ice cream and strawberry soda or a “tropical float” with vanilla ice cream and orange pineapple soda. Chek soda flavors being served include Root Beer, Cola, Orange Pineapple, Green Apple and Strawberry. Winn-Dixie ice cream flavors include Vanilla, Chocolate, Vanilla Orange and Strawberry.

Kristen Overland, senior Own Brands marketing specialist, said the crew has made quite a splash.

“We were so excited to see the truck create a buzz in neighborhood parks, community areas and local beaches and to generate excitement around the newly launched stores and the fuelperks! program,” she said.

From June 5 through June 8, the Cone Crew truck will be traveling neighborhoods in Tampa, Fla., making a stop June 7 at Cuscadian Park, 2907 N. 15thSt. From June 12 through June 15, the truck will be touring neighborhoods in Palm Harbor, Fla.; New Port Richey, Fla.; The Villages, Fla. and Ocala, Fla., and is scheduled to stop at Beverly Hills Community Park in The Villages on June 14.

After the Winn-Dixie Cone Crew tour wraps up June 15, the truck will be re-branded and will travel to neighborhoods under the Harveys banner. That part of the tour is scheduled to begin June 26 and run through July 27, stopping in store communities in Georgia and Florida and offering floats made with Chek soda and Southern Home ice cream.

The Cone Crew team is scheduled to make a stop at the Jacksonville Store Support Center on June 16.
