Henry Falcon, store director at the newly-dedicated Winn-Dixie store No. 2435 in Plant City, Fla., prides himself in being a dependable contributor to the Plant City community.
“I always try to do what’s best for my people,” Falcon said. His caretaking extends far beyond his associates. Customers and community members greet him by name as they enter the newly converted Winn-Dixie store and ask about his family before filling their carts.
“He is a fabric that is woven into this community,” said Mayor Mary Thomas Mathis during the Greater Plant City Chamber of Commerce’s ribbon cutting ceremony at Henry’s store on April 9th. Joey Medina, regional vice president, and Mike Rodgers, district director, also attended the ribbon cutting ceremony and spoke on behalf of Winn-Dixie and in support of Falcon.
“I am blessed,” Henry said many times in response to the overwhelming turnout and kind words at the event.
The local Chamber members didn’t just show their support for Henry as an outstanding community member; they eagerly welcomed Winn-Dixie as a new member of their close-knit Plant City community.
“I’ve got my rewards card,” said Mayor Mary Thomas Mathis. “So now when I go to Shell, I can get my rewards!”
