Winn-Dixie supported the American Heart Association as the local presenting sponsor for the sold-out Go Red For Women Luncheon on Friday, May 23, at the Omni Hotel in Jacksonville, Fla.

Bi-Lo Holdings Vice President of Bakery and 2014 Go Red for Women Chair Cheryl Forehand spoke at the luncheon, which included a fashion show, a delicious heart-healthy meal and floral centerpieces provided by Winn-Dixie.

“While the Go Red For Women Movement has made huge strides, our work is not done until every woman knows, understands and survives heart disease, their No. 1 killer,” said Forehand. “I encourage everyone to be an advocate for healthier hearts, starting with your own. Heart disease is devastating, but together, we can - and will - end it.”

The American Heart Association also hosted a health expo and a series of educational forums prior to the luncheon.Bi-Lo Holdings Pharmacy Professional Services Manager BJ Cobb hosted a forum for attendees to educate them on helpful pharmacy services they may not be aware including the refill sync program. Winn-Dixie also provided an informational table where attendees could spin a dial to win heart-healthy giveaways such as pedometers, health coloring books for kids, pill boxes and more. Pharmacist Thalia Patten also informed attendees about the Winn-Dixie Prescription Savings Plan, generics program and gave wellness tips.
