Bi-Lo Holdings, working with non-profit organization The Center for Scholarship Administration, Inc., will award $1,000 scholarships to 11 deserving associates to help them with the costs of education in the 2014-2015 school year.

Applicants for this year’s scholarship are high school seniors, college or technical school students working full-time or part-time at Bi-Lo Holdings, BI-LO or Winn –Dixie. They had at least one year of service as of Jan. 1, 2014 and worked an average of at least 15 hours per week during the previous year. The scholarship committee also considered the applicants’ academic qualifications, recommendations and transcripts. Applicants also submitted original essays to support their eligibility.

The Bi-Lo Holdings scholarships will help these students pursue a course of study applicable to the retail food industry and enhance their career with Bi-Lo Holdings, BI-LO or Winn-Dixie.

  • BI-LO Eastern Region: Aliyah McLaughlin, cashier, BI-LO store No. 5631.
  • BI-LO Central Region: Bryson Lee, cashier, BI-LO store No. 5446 and Renada Chisholm, cashier, BI-LO store No. 5268.
  • Winn-Dixie New Orleans Region: Hannah Lukinovich, service associate, Winn-Dixie store No. 1446.
  • Winn-Dixie Tampa Region: Corinne Keiper, service associate, store No. 708.
  • Winn-Dixie Montgomery Region: Shameka Wade, service associate, store No. 438, and Brian Niswander, cashier associate, store No. 411.
  • Winn-Dixie Miami Region: Austin Miller, bagger, store No. 2348.
  • Winn-Dixie Jacksonville Region: Erica Sanders(was working at Winn-Dixie store No. 2390 now in new Orlando region, now works at Winn-Dixie store No. 254 in Miami) and Andrea Lopera, Winn-Dixie store No. 2273, now in the Orlando Region.
  • Store Support Center: Joe Victorino, Miami region store maintenance.
