USO Ride 500px

Winn-Dixie Store No. 2379 celebrated the 10thannual Jason Burnett Memorial Ride, which is central Florida’s largest USO benefit ride. Winn-Dixie donated a pallet of water, where employees distributed the water to the riders during the ride. The store director and many associates of that store participated in the actual ride as well. This is the fourth year that Winn-Dixie has participated.

More than 600 motorcycle enthusiasts participated in this event. Between registrations, raffle proceeds, silent auction donations and sponsorship money, this year they collected over $35,000, which will provide more than 2,300 care packages for U.S. troops deployed around the globe.

“We are very pleased we were able to participate in this event,” said Craig Brown, store No. 2379 director.

Associates manned a branded Winn-Dixie tent and helped riders along the way when they needed water or snacks. Store associates are hoping to continue sponsoring this event next year for the 11thannual ride.
