Harveys store No. 1665 helped turn the City of Hahira, Georgia into a “Frozen” snow day as kids played in snow and waited in line to meet characters from the Disney movie, “Frozen.”

Hahira’s Downtown Development Authority hosted the “Frozen” Snow Day from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Feb. 21. This year’s event was the City of Hahira’s first snow day event and was even more special because it included Disney characters Anna and Elsa from the movie “Frozen.”

Hundreds of children and parents lined up downtown to meet with the Frozen characters and take photos. Families also had the chance to play in the snow filled courtyard, purchase tasty treats and decorate cookies with the local Harveys bakery team. The smell of sweets that were available for sale such as funnel cakes, shaved ice, and deep-fried Oreos also filled the air as music played throughout the afternoon and attendees of all ages enjoyed the winter wonderland fun.

The Harveys cookie-decorating table let children decorate and personalize their own sugar cookie with the help of the bakery team. Children lined up to receive special Harveys aprons and decorate the sweet sugar cookie with an array of icing colors, including “Frozen” colors blue and white. When they were done decorating, the children ate their sweet treats.

“I’m thrilled we took part in this successful event for the community,” said Harveys Hahira store director Jeremiah Ooten. “The entire Harveys team had a lot of fun helping the children decorate their own sugar cookie masterpieces and getting a little messy with icing ourselves.”

For some kids, it was their first time they ever saw snow. And it was an opportunity for children to see their favorite movie characters come to life. Meeting Elsa, Anna, and Olaf was a life-changing experience for some. Frozen Snow Day was free and open to the public and was just one of many events Harveys sponsors in the Hahira community.
