Harveys store No. 1642 in Cochran, Georgia celebrated the first day of summer with a special summer kickoff event for customers.

The special summer celebration featured a two-day sale with selected items marked down to a special price just for Cochran shoppers. It also featured something for everyone in the family. Children were invited to play in the bounce house or get fun face paintings.

The event also featured race cars, and customers could take a first-hand look inside or have their photo taken with them in the parking lot. The Georgia Watermelon Queen was also present for the event, offering samples of juicy and sweet Georgia watermelons.

The day was completed by a check presentation and donation to local Shriners for their assistance with volunteering at the event and to support their organization’s nonprofit work for the Shriner’s Hospital for Children.

“It was a wonderful day celebrating with our local community,” said Harveys Store Director Eric Bisher. “Our customers really enjoy when we do something special like this for them and we in turn enjoy having something fun and free for our community.”

The event also included a cakewalk, prize wheel, free hot dog lunch and various games.
