In Nashville, Georgia, attendees galloped to the sixth Cotton Blossom Roundup professional rodeo presented by Harveys Supermarket.

As event title sponsor Harveys joined with the Berrien County Chamber of Commerce and the Nashville-Berrien Rotary Club to bring the rodeo to the community.

From March 27 -28, professional cowboys and cowgirls rode into Nashville to compete in bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, calf roping, team roping, cowgirls’ breakaway roping, steer wrestling, cowgirls’ barrel racing and bull riding.

Harveys Supermarket has been the event’s presenting sponsor since the rodeo started six years ago. Within the Rodeo VIP section, Harveys hosted a tent supplying water, deli subs, cookies, chips and more food goodies for the VIP attendees.

“For the past five years, Harveys Supermarket has supported the Cotton Blossom Roundup and we are thrilled to once again be the presenting sponsor,” said Michael Purvis, director of merchandising and strategy for Harveys Supermarket. “The roundup provides a fun, family friendly event for the entire community and we enjoyed taking part in the action of this local event again this year.”

The Cotton Blossom Roundup also hosted special events showcasing various local talents. The Friday night performance featured a (school) principal challenge calf scramble. The winning principal was awarded with $250 and an ice cream party for the entire school from Harveys Supermarket. Saturday night’s performance featured representatives from Berrien County Relay for Life teams who scrambled to win $250. Lisa Carter and Walt Vickers, store director at Harveys store No. 1602, were onsite at the rodeo to present the checks for the scramble winners and to greet attendees.

All proceeds from the Cotton Blossom Roundup benefitted the Nashville-Berrien Rotary Club and Berrien County Chamber of Commerce.
