More than 1,200 Darlington, S.C. families had a happy Thanksgiving because of the generosity of BI-LO associates, C & S Wholesale Grocers and local businesses.

BI-LO No. 5587 Store Director Billy Holden and his team worked with Eads Chiropractic Wellness Center and the Lords Care Food Bank in assembling gift baskets with turkeys, Clear Value canned vegetables and Pepsi products.

This was the 10th anniversary of BI-LO’s partnership with the food bank’s annual Thanksgiving Dinner distribution to people in need in the Darlington area.

People lined up in the square in Darlington’s downtown beginning at midnight wrapped in blankets and heavy coats, anxiously waiting in sub-freezing temperatures for the distribution to begin at 7 a.m.

Thanks to Holden and his team, the food distribution went quickly and smoothly, despite the large crowd and chilly temperatures. Their efforts were another example of BI-LO’s demonstrated commitment to the communities it serves.
