BI-LO started the spring season by actively promoting health and wellness in the Hilton Head, South Carolina and Orangeburg, South Carolina communities.

Store No. 5655 sponsored the inaugural Orangeburg Preparatory School 5k Color Fun Run, which raised money for the school and created fellowship with the Orangeburg community. Year after year, residents enjoy this fun, healthy way to get moving. And BI-LO welcomed runners at the finish line with treats including peanut butter crackers, bananas, and pretzels to replenish their bodies after the run.

The OPS 5k Color Run gives families and friends an opportunity to enjoy a colorful and creative atmosphere while running without the pressure of the clock.

“BI-LO was thrilled to take part in the first annual OPS 5k Color Run,” said store No 5655 Director Ernest Robinson. “We loved seeing all the smiling colorful faces as the runners crossed the finish line.”

Hilton Head BI-LO stores 5164 and 5275 also took a sprint into spring when they presented the 20thannual Hilton Head Shamrock Run. A percentage of the race benefitted the Mental Health America of Beaufort and Jasper. BI-LO provided water, bananas, grapes and other heart healthy fruit snacks for participants after the race.

Both 5k Runs were sponsored by BI-LO and were a fun and special way for BI-LO to promote health and fitness to the community by getting active during the spring season.
