It was a fun time for Jacksonville Store Support Center associates who love dogs and cats when the Jacksonville Humane Society stopped by the store support center for an informative “Lunch and Learn” on April 11.

The event underscored the Bi-Lo Holdings “Feed the Love” pet programand the Jacksonville Humane Society’s efforts to aid homeless pets in North Florida. Humane Society representatives shared helpful tips for happier co-existence between dogs and their owners, but the real stars of the show were the guest dogs and cats.

Attendees received free pet treats and toys to bring home to their furry friends and a chance to win Home Depot gift cards.Whitney Haywood, Behavior Assistant at the Humane Society, and Amy Pierce, Director of Development for the Humane Society, were on hand to give information and to assist with adoptions.

The Jacksonville Humane Society is a no-kill animal shelter dedicated to rescuing homeless pets and placing them in forever homes. With the help of volunteers and donors, including Winn-Dixie, the Jacksonville Humane Society is also able to provide an animal hospital, pet behavior courses and other resources to the community.
