Winn-Dixie has a new power team in Florida with a unique nickname – “Orlampa.”

The Orlando and Tampa regions came together May 1 for a regional retail success meeting lead by Eddie Garcia, Orlando regional vice president, and Joey Medina, Tampa regional vice president.

The group gathered for a full day of training and face-to-face interaction with their regional teams. District directors, field support staff and associates from the Jacksonville store support center discussed best practices, frequently asked questions and even growing pains.

“The quicker we stop talking about conversion stores and legacy stores, the better we will be,” Garcia said to a group of newly-converted store directors and legacy Winn-Dixie store directors. “We are all one team now.”

The “Orlampa” region discovered they share more than an interstate in Florida. Both regional vice presidents have a great team of associates and the drive to make their region the best.

“I’m proud of our store teams,” Medina said. “We just have to make sure we are doing our part to do the training.”

“I love the new relationship of Orlampa,” said Medina as he closed the meeting. “As long as Orlampa is No. 1, we’re doing all right.”
