During this year’s Independence Day holiday, Bi-Lo Holdings thanked all of our associates and customers who served our country and who continue to serve today.

From July 2-8, BI-LO, Harveys and Winn-Dixie stores hosted Military Appreciation Week for active and retired military men and women. During the week, customers and associates showing their military identification received double fuelperks! for every $50 they spent in our stores.

Stores joined in on the company event with their own forms of recognition. Winn-Dixie store No. 439 on Veterans Parkway, in Columbus, Ga. commemorated the men and women who serve our country with a combined Military Appreciation and Independence Day Celebration. The ceremony included a musical performance of the Star Spangled Banner by a local father and son as well as donation check presentations to local military organizations, House of Heroes and Warrior Outreach.

"It is a distinct honor to recognize and celebrate our Military men and women in this community, as well as the organizations supporting them,” said Winn-Dixie District Director Richard McGough.

Store Support Center associates were encouraged to wear red, white and blue July 2 to kick off the week. Additionally, associates who are retired or active members of the military received miniature U.S. flags to display in their cubicles if they chose to do so.
