Englewood Winn-Dixie’s Harvest Celebration included animals from Branded Hearts Stables.

Englewood, Florida Winn-Dixie No. 2439 hosted more than 300 children and several community organizations at its annual harvest celebration.

The Englewood Fire Department, Branded Heart Stables and EARS Animal Rescue joined Winn-Dixie in the community fall festival.

“This is our chance to get people and organizations together to put on an event for our community,” said Danielle Viele, Winn-Dixie store No. 2439 director. “We enjoy giving back to those we serve, and partnering with local groups to do so.”

There were several activity stations around the store, including pumpkin and face painting, arts and crafts, cupcake decorating and a variety of games. Children who attended the Harvest Celebration were greeted with their own pumpkins to paint. The fun expanded outside the Winn-Dixie store as well; Branded Heart Stables brought a horse and EARS Animal Rescue brought dogs and cats.

In addition to the Winn-Dixie store associates who volunteered to help with the event, 15-20 local students from L.A. Ainger Middle School volunteered their time as well.

Englewood Winn-Dixie has hosted the Harvest Celebration for the last six years.
