Shanna Fink, deli department manager at Winn-Dixie store No. 2511, received a C.A.R.T. Certificate and gift card for her department’s 100 percent score on their Fresh Check audit.​

Winn-Dixie store No. 2511 in Largo, Fla. demonstrated a perfect example of best practices in the deli department and got a 100 percent score on the store’s “Fresh Check” assessment.

“The report shows them being on the program of selling safe foods by monitoring all temperatures and keeping a sanitary department,” said Dawn Soltis, deli regional sales manager in Tampa.

Shanna Fink, deli department manager, received a C.A.R.T. Certificate (Caught At the Right Time) for receiving 100 percent on every line item of the audit, but she credits her team for the incredible accomplishment.

“It is a group effort and my team is behind me 100 percent all the time,” Fink said. “Not just my deli team, but the management team also rolls up their sleeves and pitches in to help our department.”

Store teams don’t know when a Fresh Check will take place, so Fink said she makes sure her department is following standard operating practices every day. She even recently received a compliment from the Department of Agriculture on the superior condition of her department during a routine inspection.

Her dedication and attention to detail has also won Shanna the district trainer for deli position where she’ll be able to help more stores receive a perfect Fresh Check score!

“I run a tight ship and I follow standard operating practices,” Fink said. “And I train people the right way the first time!”
