Winn-Dixie No. 352 Store Director Danny Natelli has grown his partnership with Key Largo School, participating in the school’s largest fundraising event, the Safety Patrol’s Annual Fish Fry, for the second year in a row.

The annual event, on Jan. 31, brought the community together for the 35thyear in a row to help raise funds to send nearly 40 fifth-grade students to Washington, D.C.

After solidifying his partnership in 2013 with his first fish fry event, Natelli has continued to show support for the staff and students of Key Largo School. From inviting families to his store to attending the school’s Open House, Natelli has become a mainstay for families and staff of Key Largo School. He says participating in the 35thAnnual Fish Fry is a great milestone for the relationship.

“It’s an amazing feeling to realize how far our partnership has come in only one year,” he said. “We are humbled to be invited back to such a great community event and help a new class of patrollers earn the funds to take an unforgettable trip to Washington, D.C.”

Natelli was a familiar face at the fundraising event, informing parents of new Winn-Dixie offerings, while providing a prize wheel for students to enjoy. The store director also made his rounds throughout the cafeteria, helping to collect donations from eager event attendees.

Key Largo School Teacher and Safety Patrol Instructor Tiffany Wheaton had high praise for Natelli.

“Once again Danny has shown why he is such a valuable asset to Key Largo School, providing fun activities for kids and interacting with staff and parents throughout the evening,” she said. “These kids work hard to earn a trip to the nation’s capital, and it’s partners, like Danny and Winn-Dixie, that help make this event such a huge success.”
