BI-LO recently supported the Clarks Hill Fish for Life Foundation at their annual Kid’s Fishing Rodeo by supplying lunch for all attendees.

The Clarks Hill Fish for Life Foundation is a nonprofit organization in Augusta, Georgia that helps protect children against neglect and abuse. The organization started in 2010 when several bass fishermen began to raise money combining doing what they enjoy most -- fishing and helping the less fortunate. The foundation hosts two open team bass tournaments per year as well as two kids’ fishing rodeos which are held at the Wildwood Park in Columbia, Georgia on Clarks Hill Lake. All of the funds raised through the events goes directly back to the foundation to help area children.

With help from the community, sponsors and volunteers, the foundation has helped a patient travel to receive treatment for an illness, assisted a local family after the loss of their home in a house fire and has awarded two educational scholarships to two students.

“We can’t thank you enough for the donation, we had a wonderful day,” said Angela Brantley, vice president of operations of Clarks Hill Fish for Life Foundation. “We had between 850 to 1000 kids, parents and grandparents attend.”
