Southeastern Grocers Community Connections

BI-LO West

Families throughout Greenville, South Carolina, packed the parking lot of BI-LO store No. 5150 for a local fire safety event as part of Fire Prevention Week.

Fire trucks were lined up as several fire departments across Greenville County exhibited displays and gave demonstrations to educate fellow community members.

Two fire safety “houses” were constructed onsite so firefighters could demonstrate fire safety inside a home and to give an additional training course on how to properly extinguish a fire.

The Children’s Hospital of Greenville Health System was alsothere to help conduct child car seat checks as part of its Safe Kids Upstate, an injury coalition that works to prevent childhood accident deaths in update South Carolina.

“We love when our store can play host to these community events – specifically when the purpose is to improve the health and safety of our neighbors,” said Chris Tague, store No. 5150 director.
