Golfers took to the fairways May 12 in a special tournament to benefit the Paul Anderson Youth Home in Vadalia, Ga. The annual golf classic rallies major sponsors such as Chick-fil-A, Pollock Co., J.M. Smucker Co. and BI-LO to make it possible for the facility to continue to transform the lives of troubled teens.
BI-LO has been a supporter of the Paul Anderson Youth Home for many years through foundation grants and in-store donation programs, but this tournament offered another opportunity to get involved and for associates to take to the links in a four-man, “captain’s choice” golf tournament.
“The annual Paul Anderson Golf Classic is a time for us to celebrate with and remind our supporters of the transformative work being done at the Paul Anderson Youth Home because of their contributions,” said Drew Read, chief operating officer of the Paul Anderson Youth Home.
The Christian not-for-profit organization offers a recovery program as well as a wealth of resources, expert speakers and curriculum through its “familySTRONG” outreach. It relies on the commitment and investment of donors—through time and finances—to change lives.
“The Paul Anderson Youth Home is a great organization in our community,” said BI-LO store No. 5534 Director Chester Skinner. “The resources they provide help to keep a lot of our youth out of the correctional system and give them a fresh opportunity.”
