With health and wellness continuing to be a concern throughout the southeast, BI-LO stores in Anderson, S.C. recently came together to support a local charity while encouraging the community to take control of their health.
On March 8, BI-LO associates attended the 2nd annual BB&T Connector Run, a 1 mile Fun Run and 5K that takes runners along the East-West Parkway in Anderson. To ensure participants were properly fueled before the big race, BI-LO provided breakfast bars, fresh fruit and water to the more than 155 local racers, aged 3 years to 79 years old, in attendance.
Race participants also received a BI-LO-branded cutting board for chopping fresh fruits and vegetables, and a pedometer to record future walking and running distances.
All proceeds from the race supported Anderson Interfaith Ministries (AIM), a nonprofit organization that helps struggling individuals and families in Anderson County by connecting them with support, people and education to enable them to be self-sufficient.
