Accompanied by Winn-Dixie District Director Gueorgui Lago and the Miami Region Community Involvement and Public Relations field team, Morris was recognized by the City of Miami Commissioner Michelle Spence-Jones for continually giving back and praised for his passion to better the community. Spence-Jones heralded Winn-Dixie’s recent participation in the 2013 Fourth of July Family Fest and Rib Cook-Off.
“Since I’ve taken office I have admired James’ commitment to being a resource in the community,” said Spence-Jones. “This honor couldn’t go to a more deserving partner as James and Winn-Dixie have always been available when their neighbors need them the most.”
Speaking at the ceremony, Morris said working with the city and neighborhood organizations are key factors in bringing the Liberty City community together.
“It’s always an honor to be recognized for our hard work as we are constantly looking for projects that will lend a hand to our neighbors,” he said. “It’s important to me that my customers and all Liberty City residents know that Winn-Dixie is working hard to make our community a better place.”
