On Dec. 10, Winn-Dixie store No. 355 in Boca Raton, Fla. and the Adolph and Rose Levis Jewish Community Center hosted a special “Ladies Night Out” with kosher cookbook author Susie Fishbein. More than 200 kosher cooking enthusiasts visited their neighborhood Winn-Dixie store for a unique and exciting evening of food and cooking skills.

Fishbein shared easy- to-follow cooking tips and time saving shortcuts for quick kosher meals. She guided them through three kosher recipes: a zucchini and lentil soup, a delicious homemade veggie burger and a tasty apple and pear “beggar’s purse” for dessert.

As an added bonus, Winn-Dixie provided the first 50 attendees with Susie’s latest book, Cooking by Design, which she signed following the demonstration.

“We are proud to work with the Adolph and Rose Levis Jewish Community Center to bring such a wonderful event to our neighbors,” Assistant Store Director Andrea Vidal said. “The turnout was fantastic and it showcased Winn-Dixie’s dedication to the Boca Raton community.”

Cindy Bergman, associate executive director of the Adolph and Rose Levis Jewish Community Center, said she was happy with the collaboration.

“Thanks to our partnership with the Boca Raton Winn-Dixie we were able to bring an adored kosher cooking celebrity for the community to enjoy,” she said. “We are ecstatic to have such an impactful relationship that has provided our neighbors with a memorable night.”

Fishbein said she was thrilled to share her passion for kosher cooking with so many attendees.

“I want to thank Winn-Dixie and the Adolph and Rose Levis Jewish Community Center for allowing me to share the joys of kosher cooking with a terrific crowd of Boca Raton residents,” she said. “The reception from the staff to the crowd was overwhelming and to host a demonstration at Winn-Dixie was fantastic.”
