Winn-Dixie stores in the New Orleans region worked together to pay tribute to mothers during this year’s Mother’s Day holiday.

Across the region, Winn-Dixie showed appreciation for moms with surprises, thoughtful gifts and mommy events.

“We wanted to show moms and their loved ones that Mother’s Day is a high priority at Winn-Dixie,” said Karena Niblett, regional vice president of the New Orleans Region. “It’s a special time for families to honor their mothers, so our goal was to show that we care by accommodating shoppers and centering our focus around moms.”

In the week leading up to Mother’s Day, Winn-Dixie built on an ongoing partnership with New Orleans Saints Punter and first time dad, Thomas Morstead, to surprise new moms in a local maternity ward with baskets of Kuddles baby products. Morstead sneaked around the hospital to pop into patient rooms, bringing even more happiness to several new mothers.

A few days before Mother’s Day, associates from store No. 1406 in Kenner, La. worked with students from A.C. Alexander Elementary to present a floral arranging workshop. Each student was given a bouquet of flowers, which they arranged and personalized to take home to their moms for Mother’s Day.

In Mid-City New Orleans, store No. 1472 hosted a mommy appreciation event, geared towards the theme “Making Happy Happen.”Moms enjoyed samples, in-store massages, cooking demonstrations, expert blogger advice on couponing and creating a work/life balance, a goody bag filled with Kuddles baby products and more.

Store No. 1446 in Mandeville, La. coordinated with local school Mandeville Jr. High, to show moms the love on Mother’s Day weekend. Special Education students were asked to complete the sentence, “Mom, I love you because…” Their completed papers were displayed throughout the store.
