Winn-Dixie proudly presented the third annual Taste of Black Expo that was held on Friday, Oct. 4 at the EverBank Field Touchdown Club East.

Presidential Chef Daniel Thomas, a former U.S. Senate head chef and caterer for the United States Capitol, hosted the event.

The Taste of Black Expo is the kick-off event for the Florida Black Expo that celebrates local caterers, chefs and restaurants in the area for their culinary expertise.

“The Taste of Jacksonville, along with The Black Expo, is a great tool for businesses offering resources to the African-American community to showcase their products and services,” said Melissa Adams, Bi-Lo Holdings manager of charitable giving. “We are a proud partner and look forward to next year.”

As the presenting sponsor of the event, Winn-Dixie featured Chef Thomas in our booth throughout the day at the Black Expo event. Attendees could come by, chat with him and pick up a signed copy of his new book, “Recipes for a New You! Healthy Eating at its Best!”

The Black Expo event attracted over 18,000 attendees that enjoyed live entertainment, karaoke, a money machine and much more fun for attendees.
