What do Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle noodles, Vanilla Ice and Winn-Dixie store No. 1426 in New Orleans have in common? They were all part of a new Kraft national television commercial introducing the company’s newest Macaroni & Cheese product.

Last October, Kraft was busy pulling together the final details for the TV spot, starring Vanilla Ice, who played an associate at a grocery store chanting the refrain to his 1990s hit, “Go Ninja, Go.” When the company approached Winn-Dixie about filming the spot in-store, the New Orleans team happily accepted the opportunity to work with the popular brand name and the famed 90s star.

Kraft’s production crew and Vanilla Ice used store no. 1426 for the commercial, stocking a full aisle of shelves with Kraft Mac & Cheese for the backdrop.

“Store number 1426 was undergoing a remodel at that time, so it made sense to use it as the commercial setting,” said Karena Niblett, Regional Vice President of the New Orleans Region. “We knew customers were aware of the store’s transitioning state and wouldn’t be surprised or disrupted by filming. This gave Winn-Dixie the opportunity to play a key role in a national campaign with a huge brand name.”

The commercial is currently running nationwide, letting consumers across the country know that Kraft noodles have undergone a makeover.
