The Winn-Dixie store team in Key Biscayne, Florida celebrated the grand opening of the community’s new Wine and Spirits store on July 16.

More than 200 customers joined Key Biscayne city officials, chamber of commerce representatives and community dignitaries for a ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by a donation to Key Biscayne American Legion Auxiliary Post 374.

Customers gathered in the newly-opened store, impressed with the expansive selection of domestic and imported beers, wines and spirits. Winn-Dixie store No. 318 Director Jose Llanes and store associates greeted shoppers, who enjoyed samplings of a variety of specialty drinks and live entertainment. Llanes said he was proud to share the special occasion with everyone from customers to Village of Key Biscayne Mayor Mayra Pena Lindsay.

“The support we’ve received from our community and shoppers has been tremendous, and we are so grateful to share such a special event with them,” he said. “We love serving our island community and we can’t wait for everyone to check out their new Wine and Spirits store.”

Key Biscayne Chamber of Commerce President Kathye Susnjer was thrilled Winn-Dixie has expanded their offerings to better serve the community.

“We are honored that Jose and Winn-Dixie asked us to help unveil this wonderful new store,” she said. “Winn-Dixie has served this community for many years and we know island residents and visitors will enjoy shopping at their Wine and Spirits store.”
